Throughout my 11 years experience in high end photo retouching and color management I worked print catalog and web assets for such clients as Talbots, L.L.Bean, Hachette Book Group, Dover Saddlery, DXL Group and more.
Working with such a diverse client base shaped my skill set to be more well rounded and strengthened my attention to detail of client specific expectations.
In addition to photo retouching, I was also responsible for processing and inspecting catalog pages in preparation for print as well as maintaining/calibrating proofing equipment and supply to ensure high quality and accurate visual representation from monitor to proof.
For West Elm's website, I used Dynamic Imaging to create an interactive experience for consumers while choosing between fabrics for customized furniture.
The process involved tiling fabrics and maintaining a fabric library, digitally stripping furniture of its current fabric down to its base shape of highlights and shadows, creating a grid design of each section of the furniture, then draping the newly tiled fabrics to supply unlimited renders of each asset while maintaining accurate color representation from asset to asset.
Design work from small businesses and charity.
I worked with both Vantage brands, Vantage Travel and Vantage Adventures, on preparing images and documents for variable data print. Both brands used 4 page booklets that contained a variable cover image, a 2 page spread of variable special interest categories for travelers to choose from, and variable back cover images and content.
My role in this process was to create master document layouts in indesign with both common and variable type and images. The variable information was later plugged in during the printing process, pulling info from an Excel spreadsheet I had previously cleaned. I was also responsible for sizing, cropping, testing, and maintaining image libraries with strict image naming conventions.
